Also known as the Walkinshaw Refinery or Hermand Oil Works. The oil works was located close to what became Walkinshaw Branch Junction. The works was connected to nearby pits to north and south by a private railway (Walkinshaw Ironstone Pits).
Until 1921 the Inkerman Iron Works of Merry & Cunninghame Ltd was located here.
The works closed around the time of the opening of the Paisley and Barrhead District Railway's Walkinshaw Branch Junction, the exchange sidings becoming a loop at the junction.
