This is a single platform station built to the east of Causeyside Street in 1990 for the Paisley Canal Line (Glasgow and South Western Railway) re-opening.
It is a replacement for the fine Paisley Canal [1st] on the west side of the Causeyside Street, unfortunately no longer in railway use.
Trains from this station only run east to Glasgow Central. For trains to destinations to the west Paisley Gilmour Street, the main Paisley station, is half a mile to the north along Causeyside Street.
