Opened on the Glasgow District Subway. This is an underground station with access on the north side of Dumbarton Road, just west of the intersection with the south end of Byres Road at Partick Cross. The Kelvin Hall is about a quarter of a mile to the east along Dumbarton Road and the Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Kelvingrove Park are just beyond. The University of Glasgow is to the north east, probably better served by Hillhead [Subway].
The station is below ground and has an island platform. The roof of the station is exposed to the air, visible from Dalcross Street to the north. The entrance is in a row of shops on the ground floor of a tenement block.
The pre 1977 version of the station also had an island platform.
Known as Partick East [Subway] before opening.
