Opened on the Glasgow District Subway.This is an underground station. It is below, and a little to the east of, Partick station which is above at street level.
The station replaced Merkland Street [Subway], which was to its west.
The combined Partick and Partick [Subway] station was opened in late 1979, the subway station opening in 1980, with a bus station to the immediate east. The stations had a major revamp from 2006-2008. The subway station had a revamp around 2012.
The subway station has two platforms, one on either side of the double track line.
