This is a ruined freestanding four storey castle tower of the 16th century associated with the Napiers. It is located in the north of the remaining forested portion of the former Kilmahew estate.
The southern elevation has superior dressed stone and is pierced by a number of blocked gothic windows.
Abandoned in the early 1800s, with the end of the Napier line, and replaced by the new Kilmahew House in 1865.
