Kippenross Tunnel (1848-)

Opened on the Scottish Central Railway.

Description

This double track tunnel is to the south of Dunblane. The tunnel is 600 yds long.

This was an unnecessary tunnel. It was forced on the railway by the demands of a landowner who did not wish a railway line to cross their property.

Kippenross Viaduct is to the north.
