This colliery was north of Knock Hill. It was served by a railway from the east, which came north from Steelend Goods and came around the east side of the hill.
Lethans Colliery Pit No 2 was to the south, at Steelend Colliery.
The site of the mine is now occupied by farm buildings and a house, however a girder bridge which carried a minor road over the line remains to the east. The line formation remains largely intact from the Knockhill Circuit to the end of the line.
Knock Hill translates as 'hill' hill.
