Newham (1851-1950)

Opened on the Newcastle and Berwick Railway.

Description

This was a two platform station with staggered platforms. The southbound platform was north of a level crossing and northbound to the south.

A small goods yard, with coal drops, was on the east side of the line south of the crossing.

Little remains of the station other than a former railway cottage on the west side. The level crossing remains.

Newham just to the north and Newham Hall a mile to the north.
