Occumster

Location type

Station

Name and dates

Occumster (1903-1944)

Opened on the Wick and Lybster Light Railway.

Description

This was a single platform station. The platform was on the south side of the line. The station building was of the same style as that which survives at Thrumster.

There was a goods siding to the east of the platform and on the south side of the line. It was accessed from the west and served a loading bank from which, by reversal, a dock in the east end of the passenger platform was reached.

A railwayman's cottage survives to the west, alongside a former level crossing. The disused station platform still exists.
