Ulbster

Location type

Station

Name and dates

Ulbster (1903-1944)

Opened on the Wick and Lybster Light Railway.

Description

This was a single platform station. The platform was on the east side of the line with a building typical of the line, such as that preserved at Thrumster.

There was a siding at the south end, on the east side of the line and approached from the south.

The platform remains surprisingly intact and the base of the station building can be seen.

North of the station, at a former level crossing, is a railway cottage.
