Portland Pit No 5 and 8 Signal Box (-1915)Opened on the Galston Branch (Glasgow and South Western Railway).
Description
This was the signal box for Portland Pit No 5 and 8. The box was on the north side of the line opposite the colliery on the south side. Access to the colliery was from the west.
The box closed around 1915 and was replaced with a ground frame for the colliery. Closure was in 1950.
The line closed in 1964.
The location is now a footpath.
