Shettleston West Signal BoxOpened on the Glasgow and Coatbridge Branch (North British Railway).
Description
This signal box was at the west end of Shettleston station. In addition to the line it controlled access to various works.
On the north side, from west to east, was a siding with a tramway to Greenfield Colliery Threestonehill Pit No 7, Frankfield Brick Works and Acme Tube Works.
On the south side, from west to east, was North British Bottle Works, Shettleston Iron Works and Eastbank Girder Works.
The box closed in 1960, control passing to Shettleston Junction box (renamed just 'Shettleston').
