This foundry was directly east of the St Rollox Chemical Works, over Castle Street (the foundry was at number 236). The site was L shaped - it ran north up Castle Street from Garngad Road to Charles Street. It also ran east along Charles Street (which was on the north side of the works). The foundry was at a bend on the St Rollox branch of the Cut of Junction between the Monkland Canal and Forth and Clyde Canal.
The foundry built several early locomotives for the Garnkirk and Glasgow Railway - opened 1831 - which was only a short distance to the north (in fact the St Rollox Works was built to the north, on the north side of the railway).
Locomotives built were
1833/1835 - an 0-4-0 'Frew'
1840 - three 0-6-0s 'Victoria', 'St Rollox' and 'Carfin' (with vertical boilers)
