This signal box was south of the Kerse Road overbridge and controlled the southern approach to Stirling station and Stirling Shed [CR].
The box was on the west side of the line. It opened in 1885, replacing the earlier Craigs Crossing signal box, which had been located at the Craigs level crossing.
To the south was the end of loops which started further north at Stirling Middle Junction.
Sidings were added. The Craigs Brewery siding was on the west side. The Springkerse Siding was on the east side of the railway, approached from the south. This served Springkerse Store, Valleyfield Mills and, further south, the Cape Insulation works.
The signal box closed in 1971.
In a form of revival the track layout was modified in 2013 with the southbound loop extended south from Stirling Middle to south of Kerse Road bridge.
The Kerse Road bridge was replaced in 2018 in preparation for electrification. The line was electrified in 2019.
