18/09/1879	Monmouthshire Railway and Canal Company Talywain branch from Trevethin Junction to Abersychan and Talywain where it met iron works (including the British Iron Works) and colliery lines (such as the Varteg Colliery). The line replaced the early Cwmffrwd Railroad tramway.
