Opened on the Border Union Railway (North British Railway).

Description

This was a summit of the Border Union Railway (North British Railway) at 970 ft.

It was just south of Whitrope Tunnel and just north of Whitrope Siding.

Whitrope Summit was the summit of a climb which, from the north, started at Hawick [2nd] (11 miles north) and, from the south, began at Newcastleton (10 miles south).

The Waverley Route Heritage Association have reinstated a portion of the line here. Waverley Route Heritage Association
