The trackbed from Paisley Abercorn to Sandyford Halt was converted into one of the less successful foot/cycleways in 1987. This view looks towards Arkleston Junction during the conversion. The walking route, largely hemmed in by fencing, took in a sewage works and the M8's White Cart Viaduct. Abercorn station was provided on the curved line to connect the old railway to the network and replaced the Hamilton Street terminus.
