In its heyday, it played a crucial part in the norths thriving whisky trade, a cog in the transport network for a century. But any new owner of Cromdale Station shouldnt expect to see a train any time soon - it closed its doors in 1968. The former stop-off, on the Speyside Way and in the Cairngorms National Park, serviced the many distilleries which lie in the region. It had a reasonable sized goods yard for whisky traffic, with a private line to the local distillery at Balmenach.
