08/06/1871	Devon and Somerset Railway Norton Fitzwarren to Wivelscombe opened.
01/11/1873	Devon and Somerset Railway Wivelscombe to Barnstaple [GWR] opened. The line had three crossing places in 43 single track miles.
/05/1881	Devon and Somerset Railway Line converted from broad gauge to standard gauge.
01/06/1887	Devon and Somerset Railway Link to the London and South Western Railway's Barnstaple station opened.
/ /1901	Devon and Somerset Railway Great Western Railway Devon and Somerset Railway absorbed by the Great Western Railway.
/02/1937	Devon and Somerset Railway Norton Fitzwarren to Milverton doubled, partly due to considerable Ilfracombe excursion traffic.
/ /1963	Devon and Somerset Railway Cattle traffic ceases.
03/10/1966	Devon and Somerset Railway Line closed
