Fauldhouse Moor Branch (William Dixon Ltd)

Introduction

This mineral line, dating from around 1886, served the Fauldhouse Moor mines of William Dixon Ltd. There were both coal and ironstone mines. The line split at its southern end, where there was a weighing house and exchange sidings, and connecting lines to both the former Wilsontown, Morningside and Coltness Railway and the Cleland and Midcalder Line (Caledonian Railway).
