Ormskirk
Less than four years after through steam expresses had ceased, an LMS built Liverpool-Southport Class 502 EMU set waits at Ormskirk. The end on arrangement, separated by buffers, to meet Preston trains was already established and a young Malcolm Chattwood stands alongside the disused bay platform prior to catching the Cravens DMU back to Preston.
