Bonnington Viaduct [CR]

Straight on for Leith! The surviving pair of piers which carried the Caledonian 'Leith New Lines' across the rooftops towards Leith's Eastern Docks. The photograph is taken looking south east from the bridge abutment at the bottom of Gosford Place see image 26704 in March 2003 with the site of the Caledonian's Ferry Road station (which never opened) behind the camera. Below is the trackbed of the NB line from Bonnington East Jct to Warriston Jct and, just beyond that, the line to Bonnington South Jct.
