Last weekend of passenger services at Holcombe Brook sees enthusiasts capturing the scene but few ordinary passengers. This interesting view also shows the signal box, goods shed, yard crane and a mineral wagon on elevated coal drops. 50655 stands in the platform and I have been reminded that these humble branch line duties were a far cry from the express trains the 2-4-2 tanks were built for. They were fitted with two scoops to use water troughs in either direction on the L&YR main lines.
