Wakefield Shed

The north end of the former 10 road straight through shed at 56A Wakefield, photographed on 2 March 1991. The shed, which had an allocation of over 120 steam locomotives in the 1950s, officially closed in June 1967, although part of the building was subsequently put to use as a wagon repair facility, an activity that continued until 1986. The structure was finally demolished in 1993.
