One of the early versions of the Brush Type 2 diesel, no D5511, without the distinctive roof-mounted headcode box, makes a surprise appearance in this part of the world as it brings the down Waverley into Hawick on 26 July 1958. The locomotive was undergoing a period of testing in Scotland. See image 69512
