Haig Colliery

The Austerities were tough but with damage like that it is a wonder the saddle tank still held water. However, this Giesl fitted loco is in steam at Haig Colliery, Whitehaven and ready for more action. Could this workhorse be the now preserved and operational Repulse, which was finally withdrawn in 1975 and almost scrapped before being moved to Haverthwaite for a long and challenging restoration? It is seen alongside its less battered sister Revenge.
