Haig Colliery

Flanked on either side by wooden bodied coal wagons, and with the two pit head winding gear towers behind, 0-6-0ST Revenge makes a fine site as it shunts steel hopper wagons at Haig Colliery. Although steam working finished soon after this the pit itself survived until 1986 becoming Cumbria's last deep mine and is now partly preserved, including one of the headgears.
