North Connel

It's 1969, three years after closure of the Ballachulish line, and the wooden-built station at North Connel is looking very much the worse for wear. An intriguing early 60s' proposal to extend the line north across Loch Leven to Fort William (and close the expensive stretch of the West Highland line north of Crianlarich) came to nothing, and the Connel Ferry Bridge has carried only road vehicles since 1966.
