Location type

Station

Name and dates

North Connel (1904-1966)

Opened on the Ballachulish Branch (Callander and Oban Railway).

Description

This was a timber built short single platform, with shelter, at the north end of the Connel Ferry Bridge. The shelter was at the north end of the platform. It opened a year after the line itself.

For some years after closure the trackbed remained as a footpath with little left of the former timber structure.

Nothing at all remains today due to road improvements and realignment of the road which had a fairly tight corner where it deviated from the railway north of the bridge to run parallel and to the east.
