Bowling Swing Bridge

The western end of the Forth and Clyde Canal at Bowling basin on 8 June 2010, looking towards the exit to the River Clyde. The route of the L&D (closed in 1964) crossed the waterway in the middle distance on the former swing bridge, followed immediately by a plate girder bridge spanning the Glasgow, Dumbarton & Helensburgh line. The old swing bridge once supported a signal box mounted above the tracks - see 35890.
