Clayton no 8579 approaches Niddrie West Junction from Niddrie North in February 1970 with Edinburgh area trip working E18 carrying grain from Leith South to Gorgie. Despite the rather primitive Leith General Warehousing wooden bodied stock, this must surely qualify as a block working! The trackbed of part of the Lothian Lines can be seen on the left.
