Peebles Tweed Viaduct

View north across the Tweed at Peebles in May 2010 over the section once spanned by the railway bridge carrying the NB/Caley link line. Part of the abutment on the north shore still survives, albeit now supporting a brick garden wall, while the torpedo shaped supports for the old bridge piers can be seen in the river. The unusual looking 'half-house' would appear to have been the subject of major modifications to make way for the line in 1864, although an extension has been added since 1959 when the line closed.
