Burscough Bridge
To the east of Burscough Bridge station the line towards Wigan
first has to drop beneath the Preston - Ormskirk line before quickly climbing again to cross the Rufford branch of the Leeds and Liverpool canal. 150140 on a Southport - Manchester Victoria service on 16 September is on the descent to get under the first obstacle.
