Dalnottar Oil Depot at Old Kilpatrick and the Arnott Young scrapyard was the furthest west extent of the former Lanarkshire and Dumbartonshire Railway line from Clydebank between the 1960s and 1980s (with the obvious exception of the portion still in use today between Dunglass Siding at Bowling and Dumbarton Central). This 1987 view looks east with the former mainline to the left and Dalnottar Oil terminal siding to the right. By this date both lines were lifted behind the camera. The Arnott Young scrapyard by Erskine Ferry Road was already demolished and landscaped although a level crossing remained and can be seen to this day. See image 36639 for a present day equivalent to this view.
