Whittingham Hospital Railway CMHW No.2, a Barclay 0-4-2T, stands at Grimsargh with its train of converted LNWR brakevans. This image has the air of a posed photograph as these coaches would normally be in the CMHW platform road in the foreground rather than on the run round loop as seen. It may have been taken at the time when the vehicles replaced the worn out ex NLR and L&YR coaches on this free to ride service. The home signal in the background is on the Longridge main line where the other Grimsargh station, by this time closed, can be seen on the far right.
