Grimsargh

Shortly before final closure in 1957, Sentinel locomotive Gradwell stands at Grimsargh (CMHW) station with a single converted LNWR brakevan. Previously three of these vehicles had been required for the passenger services but one was sufficient towards the end. The Whittingham Hospital line was believed to be the only railway in the country where a Sentinel geared locomotive was regularly used to haul passenger services.
