Carmarthen

A Then and Now comparison with the 1971 view of the bridge over the River Towy in Carmarthen see image 36249. The old railway bridge and its pillars have gone although the abutment on the far bank can just be seen, as can the remains of the first Carmarthen station, which lingered on for goods traffic into the early 1970s. The approach road for the surviving station is just behind the camera.
