Newburgh [2nd]

The station forecourt at Newburgh, Fife, in the summer of 2005, looking west. The main station building lies straight ahead, partially hidden amongst the trees, with the Perth - Ladybank line running beyond (part of the surviving platform canopy can just be seen). Ahead and to the right lay the surprisingly large goods yard, with former buildings now put to commercial use see image 1624. The case for reopening the station, which closed to passengers in September 1955, has been taken up recently by a local lobby group.
