Normanton
5M48 was that well known working, the Heaton to Manchester Red Bank newspaper empties, although in diesel days the motive power was a bit more mundane than the variety of double-headed steam which had taken it through the Pennines in earlier years. On 19 July 1975 'Peak' No. 45058 slows on the approach to Goose Hill Junction, Normanton, where it will cross over from the up fast onto the Calder Valley line.
