Lindau
On a pleasant afternoon with no hint of the severe winter weather which would sweep across Europe a week later, ÖBB 'Taurus' electric No. 1016 038 is about to leave Lindau Hbf with train EC194, 12:33 München Hbf - Zürich Hbf. On this occasion the train would terminate just over the Austrian border in Bregenz, about ten minutes away, as bus substitution applied onwards to Zürich because of engineering work in Switzerland (hence the use of an ÖBB rather than the normal SBB loco).
