DRS 37423 Spirit of the Lakes waits in Platform 5 at Preston on 1 July before returning to Barrow-in-Furness with the daily Northern service. Pendolino 390006 stands alongside on a Euston to Glasgow train. RVEL Derby is presently refurbishing some DBSO coaches that will allow the Class 37/4s to run the Cumbrian Coast trains singly in push pull mode rather than requiring a second locomotive in top tail.
