In a sort of irony the reintroduction of trains from Waverley to the borders happened on the 50th anniversary of the closure of Edinburgh's other main terminus, Princes Street. There's little to see at the site, but a few years after closure the trackbed was converted to a useful urban fastway. Scene from Morrison Street bridge looking towards the station site on 6 September 2015. A pink-topped No 22 bus is in shot. Visiting comedian Mark Steel's estimation of one every ten seconds is not far off target.
