Preston

The East Lancashire platforms at Preston station, viewed through the lattice work of Vicars Bridge in 1964. 2-6-4T 42187 is probably running round a Southport service, which would be withdrawn a few weeks later. The goods depot is on the right. The East Lancashire platforms survived until the 1972 electrification remodelling. See image 18734 for a modern day comparison.
