Preston

BR Scottish Region's Grand Tour no.4 was a 1967 day excursion from Edinburgh to Stafford, with an interesting mixture of diesel, steam and electric haulage. A Brush Type 4 diesel gave way to steam at Hellifield, with Britannia 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' taking the train onwards to Stockport. A class AL5 electric took over for the Stockport-Stafford section. On the return trip, 70013 was photographed taking water at Preston, before continuing to Carnforth for the switch back to diesel.
