Stockholm Central

At the southern end of the staion two X2000s are seen, one arriving at Platform 17a on the right with DVT leading and the other leaves with the power car leading. During the 1990s these tilting trains played a similar role to that performed by HSTs in 1980s Britain by reviving the fortunes of rail travel. The early publicity stated that journeys on these trains were 'simpler than flying, faster than the train'! Now there are many more trains with the same top speed-200km/h (125mph).
Note the extended driver's 'wing mirrors' on the arriving train. Modern EMUs have backward facing CCTV cameras instead.
