Millerhill Mishap. Looking south from Whitehill Road over the former Up yard. A long wheelbase wagon has split the points. The Up Hump Yard office is in the background. All the track, the realigned up arrival sidings, would be lifted in later years. The new EGIP electric depot will be built on this site.
The engineer's yard was to close with all ballast trains originating at Mossend, then it was reprieved and trains used Millerhill for a while, now everything is back at Mossend. With the EGIP depot construction has the engineers yard gone? It would appear that the only functioning place is the wagon shop, for stabling of steam locos!
