Early days on the East Lancashire Railway at the newly established Bury Transport Museum in Castlecroft Goods shed. The Planet 4wDM seen here on temporary track at an Open Day was the first locomotive acquired by the ELRPS. Together with the LYR van, Midland Rly hand crane and the RSH 0-6-0T the Planet had recently been moved from the initial preservation site at Helmshore. The elderly gentleman on the right, wearing his trademark Plus 4s, is Donald Heyworth who preserved a number of commercial road vehicles and other local artefacts and was active in the ELR at this time.
