After many years of delays due to planning objections, design revisions, additional consultations, archaeological digs, a recession, etc, etc... work on Edinburgh's famous 'Waverley Valley' gap site is now well underway. View is west on 5 October 2017, with the Edinburgh Council HQ on the other side of New Street. In the right background, heading into Waverley platform 8 from the Calton Tunnel, is the 1029 ex-Tweedbank.
