Eskbridge

View south west along the trackbed of the Penicuik branch in February 2016, approximately half a mile short of the former terminus, with Eskbridge station a short distance behind the camera. The bridge up ahead now carries a walkway across the North Esk, with the housing development on the right built of the site of the Esk paper mill, rail served from a junction on the far side of the bridge. Esk Mill, one of several once located along the river, was officially closed in 1968.
