Gainford Bridge
Just west of Gainford village there are two arched stone bridges crossing the upper reaches of the River Tees, in close proximity to each other as it winds it way to the east coast. These are for the former line between Darlngton and Barnard Castle. The easternmost bridge is Gainford Bridge with the westernmost one being West Tees Bridge. This view taken at the waters edge looking north east shows three of the four arches of West Tees Bridge with the fourth arch mostly hidden by the low hanging tree branches.
